Krista Heide
Artist | Spiritual Director | Speaker
Krista is a visual artist, specializing in acrylic and mixed media on canvas and wood. She has sold hundreds of pieces of art through local markets and custom commissions (under the name Birch & Brush - Art by Krista Heide). Krista also paints live for church services and other special events.

Krista Heide is a graphic designer, and has worked with individuals and organizations to develop branded print and digital design materials. She has developed websites in Wordpress, Weebly and Wix, and also creates customized Social Media Marketing packages.
Krista is a certified Spiritual Director through Sustainable Faith's School of Spiritual Direction (2022). She offers individual sessions on zoom and in person, and facilitates group direction exercises.

Krista has 20 years of experience in speaking to both small and large groups. She regularly preaches and teaches on topics of biblical studies, theology, creativity and spiritual formation.
Krista is passionate about the connections between creativity, spiritual formation and trauma informed care and offers teaching and training on these topics. She has been part of academic research teams at the University of Manitoba and Trinity Western University - researching the use of Mindfulness, Expressive Arts, and Arts-Based Spiritual Care Practices for Health Care. She also serves on the Creative Catalyst Team of Vineyard Canada.

Krista is an avid learner, she is currently a Doctor of Ministry student at Kairos University, and has completed her Masters of Ministry in Theology and Culture at St. Stephens University (2023), and her Bachelors of Pastoral Ministry from Canadian Mennonite University (2007).
Krista has served in various church leadership positions over the past 25 years, including worship leading, house group leader, elder, creative arts coordinator and interim pastor. She currently helps to lead a home church in Winnipeg.

Krista is a wife and mother of three teenagers and a cocker spaniel bichon pup. In her spare times enjoys creating music, indoor plants, nature, travel, and creative practices.
